Xero integration for car dealers

carassessments.com.au syncs two ways with Xero, so sales invoices, purchase and recon bills and payments land in your books with a tracking category for each car. Your bookkeeper stops rekeying deals and you can still see profit per car in Xero.

What flows between them

  • Sales invoices created from settled deals
  • Bills for purchases, recon jobs, transport and auction fees, allocated to the car
  • Payments received and made, matched back to the deal or bill
  • A tracking category per car, so Xero reports can be cut by vehicle
  • Margin scheme or full GST applied per car, correct for consigned vs owned stock
  • Expenses captured by photo in the app, coded to the right car

Why it matters in a yard

Most dealers keep the yard in one system and the books in another, and someone spends Friday afternoon typing deals into Xero. Here the deal, the recon bills and the payments go across as they happen, already coded to the car. Your accountant gets clean, BAS-ready records, and the net profit per car in the app matches what lands in Xero.

Xero is a trademark of its owner. carassessments.com.au isn’t endorsed by or affiliated with Xero unless stated.

Questions dealers ask

Does the Xero sync go both ways?

Yes. Invoices, bills and payments go from the app to Xero, and payment status comes back, so a deal shows as paid in both places.

How does it handle GST on consigned cars?

Each car is set as owned or consigned, and margin scheme or full GST is applied per car to match. Your accountant can check the setup during onboarding.

Do I need a particular Xero plan?

You need a Xero subscription that supports invoices, bills and tracking categories. We’ll check your setup during onboarding.
