PPSR checks for car dealers, inside the app

carassessments.com.au runs PPSR checks from the appraisal or stock card, including finance owing, written-off and stolen status, and stores the certificate on the car. A fresh check gates every payout, so you don’t pay a seller while money is still owed on the car.

What flows between them

  • PPSR, written-off and stolen checks run from the appraisal, intake or stock card
  • Certificate stored on the car for both buying and selling
  • Finance owing captured and a payout letter requested from the financier
  • PPSR gate before payment, re-run on payment day
  • Payout split: financier first, then seller equity, with negative equity handled
  • PPSR spend tracked, with checks included on Yard, Pro and Dealer Group

Why it matters in a yard

Paying out a seller and finding finance on the car later is one of the most expensive mistakes a dealer can make. Running the check inside the appraisal, keeping the certificate on the car and re-running it on payment day means the check happens every time, not when someone remembers to log in to another portal.

Questions dealers ask

How much does a PPSR check cost?

PPSR checks are $4 each pay as you go. Yard includes 3 a month, Pro 8 and Dealer Group 20.

Is the certificate kept?

Yes. Every PPSR certificate is stored on the car, so it’s there for the deal jacket and any audit.

What happens if there’s finance owing?

The finance owing is captured, a payout letter is requested and, at payout, the financier is paid first and the balance goes to the seller.
