EasyCars vs Virtual Yard
EasyCars and Virtual Yard are both cloud DMS products for Australian motor dealers with state compliance forms, advertising feeds, dealer websites and Xero integration. The clearest differences on their websites are pricing (Virtual Yard publishes plans by stock value, EasyCars quotes), finance (EasyCars names Drive on Finance with 30+ lenders) and scale (Virtual Yard says over 700 dealerships and offers an OEM suite).
Last checked 23 October 2026, from each company’s own website. We make a third option, carassessments.com.au; it’s covered separately at the end.

Choose EasyCars if
you sell owned stock, want finance through Drive on Finance built in, use MYOB as well as or instead of Xero, or run a caravan, truck, motorcycle or boat yard and want a version made for it.
Choose Virtual Yard if
you want to see the price before you talk to sales, run new and demo stock as well as used, or want dealership websites that take payments and finance applications online.
Either way, ask about
consignment and trust accounting (neither mentions them on its website), how profit per car is calculated, what you can export if you leave, and which states’ forms are current. Get the answers in writing.
If you consign cars, or want true profit per car
If you consign cars, or buy and consign side by side, neither EasyCars nor Virtual Yard describes a consignment workflow on its website. carassessments.com.au was built by TradeBeat, a licensed QLD consignment dealer, for exactly that: consignment agreements, a consignor portal, settlement statements and a trust ledger, alongside buying, recon, listings, CRM and deals, with true net profit shown on every car. It costs $99 to $849 a month + GST with unlimited users, no setup fee and no lock-in, and we migrate you from EasyCars or Virtual Yard for free. QLD compliance is live now; NSW and VIC are coming.
